All members of the general practice community were invited to showcase their talents and celebrate the diversity of general practice by entering the conference's photo competition.

The theme of the competition was ‘diversity' and photos were submitted in two categories, faces (portrait focused) and places (landscape focused).

The top finalists in each category were displayed. Only photographs on display were eligible for the awards.

Winner: Alex Burk Photo title: Gippsland Reason given by judges: Alex's photo looked at the way people live and work in the local environment and shows how a place influences the work of a GP	Winner: Ekarat Chanwanpen Photo title: Home rehabilitation in Thailand Reason given by judges: This astonishing photo illustrates the worry experienced by a patient's family, the compassion of the care givers and the connection of the local community.
Runner-up: Mikhaila Lazanyi Photo title: Salard Uyuni in Bolivia Reason given by judges: This photo reminded the judges of how far GPs go to make a house call	Runner-up: Graeme Choat Photo title: Dr Heather Stevenson with her patients in her waiting room Reason given by judges: This photo shows a calm waiting room, hosting three generations of patients from diverse backgrounds being cared for by a female GP.
Highly Commended: Elissa Mukhtar Photo title: I belong Reason given by judges: The composition of the photo reflected the diversity of our community	Highly Commended: Malcolm Moore Photo title: Tobacco Sellers Reason given by judges: Malcolm's photo highlights the challenges for GPs in the developing world where people's livelihoods bring into conflict the importance of health promotion and the community's need for economic independence.
