Guidelines for Bursary Applications The conference organisers are expecting a large number of family doctors/general practitioners will want to attend the Wonca Asia Pacific Regional Conference combined with the RACGP 51 st Annual Scientific Convention from developing nations from the Asia Pacific region. Many of these will be doctors who will have difficulty in affording the costs associated with attending this conference. To assist these doctors to attend the conference, ten $1000 bursaries are being offered for delegates from less developed nations of the Asia Pacific. To be eligible to receive a bursary to attend this conference the following criteria must be met:
1. Be working or living in an developing nation in the Asia Pacific region as listed in Category B on the conference website at http://www.wonca2008.com/registration.php
2. Be a GP, family doctor, registrar, trainee or medical student
3. Is willing to participate in the conference hosting program (stay in the home of a conference delegate living in the metropolitan Melbourne area)
4. The allocated bursary must go towards the cost of flights and associated costs to attend the conference (payment will be given upon arrival at the conference)
5. Your application MUST be received by Friday 1 August 2008.
6. Please supply a supporting letter from a medical colleague, supervisor or the Wonca member organisation in your country, as appropriate
All delegates who are approved to receive a bursary receive free conference registration, including attendance at the welcome reception and official conference dinner.
